Sarah's Goal was founded in 2018 in the memory of Sarah Hanson Powell. Sarah was married with a young son when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Sadly, Sarah passed away in 2011.
Football was one of Sarah's main passions.
Sarah's Goal was set up to assist children and teenagers whose parents / carers struggle financially through illness, redundancy, bereavement, low income and any other changes of circumstance to play football by providing essential kit, football boots, shin pads and goal keeper gloves. We also provide grants that will pay a percentage of subs and fund holiday coaching days , tournament costs etc each determined on an individual basis and a referral from football clubs, schools or professional bodies.
What do you do with your used, but in good condition football boots and sports clothing that no longer fit ??????
The biggest part of our funding comes from our boot and clothing scheme.
Good quality boots and sports clothing are donated to us via drop off / collection points at football clubs and businesses throughout South and West Yorkshire. We then collect, sort and clean donated items and attend football tournaments with our stall where they are sold on.
Click on Drop off points to see where you can donate.
If any clubs would like to support us by becoming a Collection / Drop off point please get in touch.
Sarah's Goal aim to support children and teenagers in South and West Yorkshire to play football by providing essential kit and assisting financially with the costs associated with playing.
We believe everyone should be able to play and be part of a team, no matter what their circumstances are. Any boot or clothing donations that we are unable to use are passed on and taken out to Ghana and Gambia. We also pass on grassroots kits, if clubs have changed their kit you can donate to us. We do not send any donations to landfill every donation we receive is recycled.
